Crimes Against Women In America
Prevalence of crime and its effect on women
Crimes against women in America are continuing unabated despite an advanced educated society
Women in America
Women in America are at the receiving end as far as crime against them is concerned. This hard to understand as the USA is the most advanced society in the world. This is one place where women are not a purdah and tens and hundreds do all the jobs that men do.They are now even inducted into the fighting arms. Thus in a society so equal for women, it is a fact that women are the subject of maximum crimes.Sex is almost free and no taboo attached to a relationship, yet the incidence of rape of women is the highest in the world.
Women are in the armed forces, even the marines.
During the period of Obama as president, Leon Panetta the secretary of defense opened the doors to women as combatants. One will have to digest this with a glass of whiskey or something else as women who so easily succumb to sexual rape and violence must find it difficult to hold guns and weapons and go for combat. Can somebody enlighten me on this?
Incidence of Rape
An aspect often overlooked is the statistics of rape.America leads in rapes and rapes are common phenomena.Another aspect of these rapes is the perception that the black African American and the Hispanic are more prone to raping a woman. The men who commit these crimes are Black, Hispanics or Cubans. They constitute 60% of the US prison population when they make up just 27% of the population.
There are no real statistics available for black raping white women, but one can say the incidence is high. One reason the statistics is discontinued is because of the charged racial divide. The government would not like to Fuel a racial war.Women are the centerpiece of crime and despite all talk of equality women in some cities are raped monotonously.
There is a need for a socio-economic study to be done on the prevalence of rape in the USA.Obviously, there is a connection.Perhaps it also has to do something with the economic condition. The poor are apt to commit crimes more easily. Then there is also the question of mental makeup. This also needs study.Maybe experts can pinpoint the problem, but I don’t think it can be solved. One recollects the case of Caryl Chessman “ the red light bandit” who was sent to the gas chamber on a charge of rape. That was a long time back, but there is no change in US society.
