Huma Abedin Will Be At A Loss To Decide What To Do

Huma Abedin was in the news. She was the closest confidant of Hillary Clinton and had been with her for over 2 decades. In fact, she was her first employer and had joined her just after she graduated from college. Huma was a Muslim but had married a Christian Congressman Weiner and the duo was fast becoming a power couple on capital hill.

Huma's star was on the ascendant as Hillary won the nomination and because of her closeness to Hillary, she became an important backroom fixture in the Hillary campaign. How did Huma become close to Hillary? It must be mentioned that

Hillary was under tremendous pressure because of the profligate affairs of her husband Bill and Huma became the stabilizing influence. There was no looking back as Hillary won the nomination and suddenly Huma was cast into the role of a backroom advisor to Hillary.

The ploy seemed to be working as the various Gallup polls predicted Hillary as the winner and that was a danger. It lulled Hillary to a point of complacency and she did not campaign hard enough in the swing states. Sometimes Gallup polls can mislead as they did this time. Hillary also should not have forgotten that the popular vote does not determine the winner and its is the electoral college that is the deciding factor.

though a Muslim became the major player in the campaign. Probably she dreamt a bigger role for her after Hillary won. No other result was anticipated. Many were alarmed and Hindu group feared a pro-Pak tilt in case Hillary won as Huma had a Pakistan connection. She was the single important fixture in the backroom of the Hillary election campaign.

The defeat of Hillary was a surprise and Huma wept openly. It must have been a traumatic experience. It was a bad time for her as her husband was charged with disgraceful behavior and sexting a young girl of 15 years. Now she will take a divorce but it was a terrible time of December for her. Worse the political career of Hillary looks to be over and Huma who is only 41 cannot retire. She is in a jam with the conduct of her husband and the fact that she is being investigated by the FBI in the Clinton email scandal.

Huma is however down but not out and down and she will arise. she is a resourceful woman and the US will hear more about her in 2017.
